Tarot Fortune-Telling or Tarot Reading — Which One Resonates with You?

Hello everyone,

March has begun. How are you feeling as this new month unfolds?

The other day, I happened to watch a video that shared an interesting idea.

It suggested that “tarot fortune-telling” and “tarot reading” are actually quite different things.

When I heard that, something inside me immediately thought,

“Ah… that makes sense.”

And it inspired me to reflect on it and share a few thoughts with you.

A few years ago, a psychic teacher once said something to me that stayed in my memory.

“Michiko, what you do isn’t fortune-telling.”

At the time, part of me quietly agreed.

“Yes… that’s true. It feels different.”

Yet I didn’t think too deeply about it and simply let the comment pass.

But revisiting this idea now, I feel as though something has finally fallen into place.

So What Is the Difference?

I asked AI to summarise it in a simple way, and this explanation felt surprisingly clear.

A simple way to see the difference

Tarot Fortune-Telling

• Focused on predicting outcomes

• Often about getting an accurate answer

• Centred on external events and technique

Tarot Reading

• Awakens awareness

• Invites reflection and inner insight

• Focuses on energy, intuition, and inner truth

If I were to describe it in one simple image:

Tarot fortune-telling is like 📍 a weather forecast.

Tarot reading is more like 🌊 feeling the ocean that is already moving within you.

Personally, I found that comparison quite beautiful.

It’s Not About Which One Is Better

Of course, this isn’t about saying that one approach is right and the other is wrong.

Both have their place.

What feels important to me is simply this:

Being aware of what we are truly seeking.

More and more, it feels like we are living in a time where people are encouraged to choose for themselves.

Perhaps we begin something because someone well-known recommends it,

or because someone we trust is doing it.

But ultimately,

the final choice always belongs to us.

And I feel that awareness growing stronger in many people.

In My Own Case

My journey began through channeling.

Because of that, I had never really stopped to clearly distinguish between fortune-telling and reading.

But encountering this idea now feels strangely meaningful.

Perhaps it is also a gentle hint about

how I am meant to continue walking my path.

And What About You?

When it comes to tarot, what are you looking for?

Do you want to know what the future might hold?

Or do you feel drawn to explore the truth that already exists within you?

Are you more interested in fortune-telling?

Or tarot reading?

I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

If this resonates with you, feel free to share your perspective in the comments.

From the clear Swiss air,

with a quiet blessing for the beginning of March.💞

Much LOVE✨
